Hi, my name is Elizabeth. I am a freelance writer from Denver, Colorado. As a long-time Federal employee, I have been exposed to almost every point-of-view imaginable. As a result, my writing reflects ideas from a wide array of backgrounds and perspectives.
Even the most technical writing can be beautiful and that is what I am best at. Whether that means writing an educational article or helping to edit a novel, bringing beauty to the written word is one of my greatest passions.
I began writing at a very young age, always assuming that no one would want to read what I wrote. It was only in college that I found my voice and realized that everyone has something to say, lend, or share. My first foray into professional writing was within the constraints of 140 character twitter posts for a science-based Federal agency. I then, gratefully, expanded into the world of communications and public affairs.
I soon realized that in order to get where I needed to go, I would need to get a master's degree. Enrolling in and now completing the Professional Creative Writing Program and The University of Denver was an invaluable experience. It was here that I learned to show not tell, how to write a compelling thesis that worked, and how to finally write dialogue with all the commas in the right places.
Now working as a freelance writer, I am able to apply my knowledge and skills to writing about the passions of others as well as my own. Take a look at my portfolio and then let's chat.
